Leaf Topiary

Material Needed:

flower pot

metallic copper paint

mini craft pumpkins

craft foam

4" craft foam ball

wooden dowel

fall craft leaves

strait pins

glue

I started this project by painting the flower pot in a metallic copper color.  I then glued some craft foam int o the pot so that I could insert the wooden dowel.  I painted the wooden dowel the same copper color as the flower pot.  I glued the wooden dowel into the craft foam in the flower pot and dry fit the foam ball on top so I knew where I shouldn't put leaves.  I then alternated leaves to cover the entire foam ball and stuck them into the foam ball using the strait pins.  After the entire ball was covered with the leaves I glued the ball onto the wooden dowel.  I then took mini craft pumpkins and hot glued them in to place around the bottom of the dowel to cover the craft foam in the flower pot.  I thought is was cute and festive fall decoration.

Pumpkin Topiary 

Materials Needed:

small craft pumpkins

metallic brown paint

craft foam

This topiary was a bit easier to put together than the first.  I found these fall colored pumpkins at Target in the One Spot and thought they would make a cute topiary stacked on top of one another.  I started off by pulling out the stem of the bottom two pumpkins so they would sit nicely on top of one another.  I painted the flower pot with the brown paint and glued craft foam into the bottom of the pot.  I then glued the wooden dowel into the foam in the pot.  I pushed the pumpkins onto the dowel and glued coordinating leaves onto each pumpkin before adding the next.  I added the final pumpkin on the top of the dowel with some glue.  WALA another super cute fall topiary to decorate my home with.

Well I finally got around to posting something on my craft blog.  Surprising how long it can take someone to get around to doing something.  Since Halloween season just got over I decided it would be a good place to start.   I don't have before and during pictures of these Halloween crafts but I will try to do a good job describing exactly how I made them and show the after pictures.  As you can tell I decorate for Halloween with Candy Corn :D

Candy Corn Topiary

Materials:

flower pot

wooden dowel

Styrofoam ball

black daisies

push pins

floral foam

candy corn

white, yellow, black and orange paint

white, yellow, black and orange glitter paint

I have seen similar ideas on Pinterest so I decided to see what I could make.  I found a milk jug shaped flower pot at Hobby Lobby but a regular flower pot would work too.  I painted the pot in sections to look like candy corn and added some glitter paint.  I then put floral foam in the bottom of the pot.  I painted both the wooden dowel and the Styrofoam ball black.  I painted metal pushpins in candy corn colors adding glitter (everything is better with glitter).  Using craft glue I glued the black daisy flowers onto the Styrofoam ball and secured them with the pushpins.  I then glued the Styrofoam ball onto the wooden dowel and secured the dowel into the floral foam in the bottom of the flower pot.  Finally I hot glued some actual candy corn to the top of the flower pot. 

Candy Corn Modge Podge Pumpkin

Materials:

ceramic pumpkin

craft leaves

white paint

dark green paint

candy corn tissue paper

yellow and orange glitter paint

I found this ceramic pumpkin at Garden Ridge after Thanksgiving one year and was trying to think of a way to make it more than just a boring orange pumpkin.  I started by painting the main part of the pumpkin white so that the tissue papers colors would show the best.  I then painted the stem of the pumpkin dark green.  After all of the paint had dried I cut the tissue paper to wrap around the pumpkin.  Using Modge Podge I layered the tissue paper onto the pumpkin.  I then added some yellow and orange glitter paint to the dried pumpkin (like I said everything is better with glitter).  After everything has dried I added two orange craft leaves with E6000 craft glue.  Much more festive looking than just a plain orange pumpkin.

Jeweled Candy Corn Wall Art

Materials:

8x10 frame

candy corn scrapbook paper

candy corn jewels

These are super simple.  The first picture is actually a gift bag I found and cut to fit in an 8x10 frame.  I found the candy corn jewels at Hobby Lobby and randomly added them to the paper to add some bling.  I then put the decorated paper into 8x10 frames I bought at Dollar Tree.  The gems give the framed paper a 3D effect.  Super cute and super cheap to make.

Candy Corn Pumpkin

Materials:

Ceramic pumpkin

black mettalic paint

dark green, dark brown, yellow, white and orange paint

black, yellow, white, and orange glitter paint

white, orange, and yellow puff paint

candy corn stencil

I used yet another ceramic pumpkin I bought on clearance at Garden Ridge.  I first painted the main part of the pumpkin black, the stem brown and the leaf dark green.  After the pumpkin dried completely I used a candy corn stencil I cut out with my Cricut to trace lines onto the pumpkin.  I then free hand painted each part of the candy corn with both regular paint and glitter paint.  To finish the pumpkin off and to make it slightly 3D I outlines each section in puff paint.
